The idea of a board that guides the cutting process and fits functionally into everyday life was born. The requirement was clear: It should not only be practical, but also attractive enough to stay on the table.
From concept to handcraft
After initial sketches and numerous tests in the home workshop, the first prototype was handcrafted in the garage – from solid beechwood, with a vertical stop, and clearly reduced to the essentials. The goal was not perfection, but a sense of proportion, stability, and function. On this basis, the first fully developed model was created in collaboration with a local carpentry shop: precisely manufactured, cleanly finished, and durable in use. Every detail was considered, tested, and revised. No compromises in material, function, or feel – and no unnecessary gimmick.
The launch of the mill board
The final model of the mill board initially went online as a crowdfunding project – and was fully funded in less than 48 hours. The response was so overwhelming that the first limited-edition series sold out completely shortly thereafter. Customers particularly praised its practicality and high-quality design.
