FAQ

Is the Nine Men's Morris board also available for left-handed people?
Sure! The board is available for left- and right-handed people, so it is uncomplicated and easy for everyone (but the board can also be easily turned over).
Do you value sustainability?
The beech wood for your mill board is certified sustainably grown and comes mostly from within a 150km radius of our German supplier - this keeps transport routes short and the carbon footprint low. And our shipping boxes are also made from 100% recycled raw materials, even the adhesive tape is not made from plastic, but from recycled paper. So we are very proud that you get an all-round sustainable product with the mill board.
Where is the cutting board made?
Your mill board is 100% made in Westphalia, Germany. Due to the strong increase in demand, several family businesses now support us in production. However, we still handcraft each mill board ourselves in our own workshop.
Does the board not slip when you press the food onto it?
To ensure that the mill board stands securely and when pressing the material to be cut
To prevent it from slipping, it stands on four anti-slip rubber feet.
Does the right of return also apply to items with signs of wear?
Yes, the satisfaction guarantee also applies to
So you can enjoy your mill board in peace and
risk-free for up to 30 days. And of course,
Signs of wear. If you want to return it, these marks
No problem. There are no restrictions on the type or depth
the traces.
What happens to the groove when the cutting board gets wet?
If your mill board gets very wet, for example, because you're cutting a lot of vegetables with a lot of liquid, like tomatoes, the wood will swell slightly. This is its natural characteristic and completely normal. The blade may then sit a little tighter in the groove. However, after drying, this change will reverse, and the blade will return to its normal position. If you find your blade is too tight or too loose, simply contact us, and we'll help you quickly and easily.
Which wood is best for a cutting board?
For a cutting board, it's important that the material is resilient and durable, but not too hard, as otherwise the knives would dull too quickly. Glass, for example, is unsuitable for this. For this reason, we use hard, robust solid wood for the mill board. Another advantage is that it's easy to maintain and can even be sanded if necessary. There are small differences in our materials, which are described in the next question. However, we recommend choosing your mill board primarily based on your personal taste.
How do the different woods differ?
Generally, the mill boards are very similar in their properties, so you should choose yours based primarily on your personal taste. Walnut is somewhat lighter than the other woods and always has a very vibrant grain. Tiger bamboo is the heaviest and hardest board because the bamboo is highly compacted. Incidentally, bamboo is not actually wood, but a grass plant—this makes this raw material particularly sustainable, as it grows very quickly. Our beech wood, however, has the advantage of being locally sourced and requiring only short transport routes.
I actually don't have room in my kitchen for another cutting board.
Microwave, kettle, toaster... Space is often at a premium in the kitchen. That's certainly how it is in the inventor's kitchen. The mill board is deliberately designed to be compact, so it fits in any kitchen and on any dining table. Moreover, its special shape allows it to stand upright, allowing it to be quickly and easily stored anywhere to save space. This elegantly sits out of the way, yet is always within easy reach. Disassembled, it also fits in any drawer—but its advantage lies in the fact that it, along with the knife, is always within easy reach. If you're not sure whether it will fit in your home, you can test your mill board for up to 21 days without hesitation.
